By granting long-term funding to ZOOM Children’s Museum, which reopened at new premises in autumn 2001, the City of Vienna sent an important signal.
Since it was first launched in 1994, ZOOM Children’s Museum has attracted more than 1,100.000 visitors, including more than 130,000 visitors during the first eleven months after reopening. ZOOM has managed to perform equally successfully over the past few years, with between 100,000 and 110,000 people a year visiting ZOOM Children’s Museum since 2002.
The financial means necessary to operate ZOOM Children’s Museum are largely provided (ca. 64%) by the City of Vienna, through subsidies granted by its culture and youth departments, WienKultur and Landesjugendreferat Wien.
